She just wanted to be invisible, but she was destined to become a princess. The Princess Diaries movie was wildly popular and originally set in the early 2000s. This exercise in imagination sets the movie in the pop/punk style of the 1980s. The film’s props and movie poster are reinvented with a splash of neon to send viewers back in time. The poster uses an underground xeroxed texture and bright colors to create a punk band aesthetic featuring the princess. Props throughout the movie are heavily inspired by classic icons of the 1980s with a modern twist.
